I mean don't get me wrong, all those things Scawen fixed and implented are great but still it somehow feels like there should be a bit more to it

Yes, I was afraid of that changing models would make things incompatible, so that's why fingers crossed. CoG was the short for center of gravity, right? Would make sense, unfortunately

Well, to be fair, we did know there were no promises for 'AMAZING' stuff at each patch, and Scawen is allowed to do things like this, which make LFS a stable platform for a bit longer. Now he can concentrate on Christmas, then on making Patch W amazing.

If you want to complain about slow progress, then perhaps you should have thought a bit more before handing over your money. Or you could try netkar, which costs more than LFS and whose developer developed an allergic reaction to bug fixing, typing, communication and sense all at the same time, but fortunately hired to biggest fanboy as his lone beta tester, who refuses to admit that nK is in fact utterly utterly shite.

Patch Q wasn't a big blast too. Some fixes, multilanguage support.. and stuff. But then came april with the Patch U i find this situation similar. It's like preparing the soil for the crops

Hmm, you should really quote something as this way it's hard to know to who that was aimed for trissy. I ain't complaining atleast, Im happy that the wasps are gone and Scawen can move on to the more incompatiple stuff

Tristan, dunno if you sounded too harsh for the sake of humour but lately, you've been calling everyone imaptient I guess after some of the recent threads on this forum, it gets difficult to distinguish between impatient trolls and people who're just curious as to what's going on etc.

As for the interiors, I honestly doubt it but there's a way to pull it off, retaining compatability, surely. You could use the current 3D models for the CoG and the new ones for the graphics engine, all of which is too much bother and it would be a better idea to just leave it for later.

I'm not sure if the interiors actually do have effect on the CoG. If they really do have an effect, the switching from LHD to RHD and vice versa has even bigger effect than I thought...

I'll check...

EDIT: Yeah, it looks like the interiors do change the CoG...
Camber changes when moving driver's seat from left to right, without driver or fuel, of course

i dont think its done on the fly so theres no reason why the model and the physics cant have a different cog
besides the model used for cog calculation is probably a lot more detailed anyway

I think it is calculated on the fly - I can still remember one person saying how he was quicker through a turn after a crash that flattened the cars roof...

Yup, as Android says, I think it's done on the fly. Also, the clear windcreens in S2 made a big difference, and Scawen had to come up with a solution to make the CoG be in a realistic place...

It IS possible that the polar moment of inertia is calculated on the fly. That's not just a value like the CoG - it changes (by substansial margins) in different directions. Actually, I think an inertia matrix is calculated when loading the car and possibly even changing anything on the setup, especially driver side switches.

id assume that the model used for on the fly calcs is a lot more boxy (you really dont want to calculate a cog using every single vertice you see on screen) with a lot more parts of the car modeled

LFS tweak had sliders for engine position and mass a while ago (S1 days). I'd assume that's how the engine is added.
