Way of logining into LFS rather than unlocks
With the number of both crackers and people coming up with the excuse my brother/friend/pet gorilla was wrecking on my LFS account why not replace the unlock system with a simple login with your account name and password. It would allow you to secure your LFS on a computer that you cannot be bothered/have no need to keep secured/need to allow someone to access your account for whatever reason. It would also AFAIK offer greater cracker protection than is currently available.
thats.. how its done, you put in your LFS name, then your password

trust me, crack protection doesn't matter at this rate, its already happened and the crackers will stay where they are, they wont be getting any updates, i (and jakg) know how the system works now, and how to prevent it, but there is little we can do anymore, whats done is done
The main reason to have certain amount of unlocks is to limit how many LFSs people can unlock per month. People are giving their S2 licese password to their friends and then contact tech support to get more because their LFS has "suddenly locked itself" because they have had to reformat and reinstall their LFS two times in one hour

Thje devs know people will crack and acount share, that's why only one username is allowed online at a time It's no fun racing by yourself. Maybe when the new AI is more fun to race against they'll do soemthing in regards to unlocks as well, but I think they're plenty generous as it is with the unlocks.
No matter how much 'crack protection' a program has, someone WILL find a way to hack it. That's why the devs arent adding anything else to prevent cracking (aside from only letting you have one connection from your account).

No, wheel4hummer, they HAVE, the april update broke all existing cracks, and im willing to bet it's deliberate
Edited by victor : erh, no linkage of that kind here - should be obvious really.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to stop crackers from using LFS offline no matter what you try and do. People will just create a modified exe that bypasses your protection systems etc.

Microsoft with their 1000's of developers are unable to make XP/Vista pirate proof so this should let you see its not easy.

LFS has it right at the moment... The system stops online use and is low impact so Ideal protection.
