I cant remember if one of them ever won a race but they did quite well.

Surprisingly, Volvo has been in racing in past and not the slowest team. Also best era in touring cars included Volvo:

Although Jan Lammers manage to performe well this was the first and final year from him in the BTCC. He decided after the season to abandon touring cars "because of the driving style".

Even back then they were just a bunch of wreckers, apparently, because he's raced almost everything else with 4 wheels and enjoyed it.

Yes, sounds like it, but earlier years 85-92 are rather anjoyable to watch at least, specially when those rs500 sierras were racing, incredible how close some races were and cars were loose like ours in LFS
