I'm playing on 1024x, 32bpp @75Hz, but LFS sticks to 59 fps.
I've put the frequency rate limit at 76fps, and Windows' desktop frequency for 1024x is set to 75 also.
are there any applications which locks (and if necessary overrides) the hz to a certain interval? My monitor supports 75hz but lfs wont let me choose it. (highest in lfs is 70)
Hallen, i'm running an AMD64 3200+ and X800 pro.
The fps won't go above 60fps... It reads as 75fps when windowed, but that's not right, Windows desktop res and freq is 1280x1024@60Hz.
Fel, if you're using an ATI, did you check:
Display settings>Displays>Monitor>"Monitor properties": Maximum resolution and Maximum refresh drop-down menus ?
Hey man, ah yes good spot, however im using the fpd (digital) output on my ati x800xt. there's not such an option in the fpd menu. Strangely enough though in the windows control panel/display/settings/advanced/monitor screen refresh rate menu i had to untick "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" to be able to select 75hz. (My monitor does indeed support 75hz, it's documented in the specs and it works just fine). Maybe that has something to do with lfs not displaying the higher (75hz) refresh rate option.
I use the X700 on a Pentium 4 3GHz with 1.5GB RAM. I have a 75Hz refresh rate but I rarely see that high of a rate. It is usually around 60+-5.
Did you set the Vertical synch on? Does that make any changes?
It would seem that you should be able to get much higher frame rates than you are seeing. But unfortunately, I am out of suggestions. Sorry.
The CPU's actually a 3500, I'll check to see if VSync changes anything..
I haven't paid constant attention to it, but noticed it floating around 70fps during a race today, I think the (a) solution was to have the game in full screen before connecting to the host.
