G25 question
Hi, I recently bought LFS and a G25, and am still racing the training levels.

I got LFS a few days before my G25 so I started racing using a mouse.
Now I've got my G25 I'm doing all the levels I did before again.

All went very smooth using the G25 (easier than using a mouse) untill the autocross track (driving the MRT). I found it pretty easy using a mouse, but now I'm having trouble using the G25.

Some problems:

My wheel is set to 900°, but if I steer left or right I reach the point where the wheels of my car won't move anymore after 90° (I can still turn my G25 much further, but the wheels of my car won't move anymore).
Maybe this is just how the MRT behaves?

Secondly, if, using the G25, I drive straight through, start turning left or right and immediately slam my brake, the car will go straight through even do my wheels are turned.
Using the mouse, the car WILL turn. Which is the normal behaviour?

Third, if, using the G25, I keep my brake pedal down, and try to turn the wheel, the force feedback keeps me from doing so.
So I can't turn while keeping the brake pedal down.
The MRT5 only has 180 degrees of lock, depending on what wheel turn compensation settings you are running LFS might only use the first 90 degrees each way of your wheel to reach maximum lock.

If you lock the front wheels, the direction the wheels are pointed won't make any difference to the direction the vehicle is moving. It is possible you have brake help enabled when racing with the mouse, this will prevent the wheels from locking thus you can steer.

There is much more resistance to turning when the front wheels are locked, so yes the force feedback will offer much more resistance to the wheel being turned.
Alright, so all the G25 behaviour is normal and I just have to practice a bit more to get decent times on that course?

Wonder how I'm gonna take those 180° turns tho, it seems like you need to go soooooo slow.

Yeh either go slow or drift it through, the MRT loves a bit of lift off oversteer.
mrt sucks

dont hurt me
I have a question too, (I'm not sure if it's topic worthy, so I'm placing it here)

I heard there are 2 versions? (V1 and V2 (lol))

If so, what is the difference?

No, at least if there are ive never heard of them - there may well be revisions, Rev 2 would be nicer, but i haven't heard any issues with Rev 1's

Not sure they've made a Rev 2 yet, although the fact they are out of stock *everywhere* could indicate tht

You probably shouldn't be using the full 900* rotation. The most that any car in LFS uses is 720* so most people set the Wingman software to limit the wheel to 720* then set LFS to use 720* (mine is actually at 718 since I can't get it to be exactly 720). If you do this then all cars will use the proper lock-to-lock. 180* cars will only require turning the wheel 180*, 270* cars will only require turning 270*, and so on. Also make sure you have the "fake" forces turned off in the Wingman software.
Cue-Ball,

use the mouse wheel to scroll to get to 720. I had the same problem till I stumbled on that trick.

I had no idea you could do that! Thanks for the tip!
