Every so often LFS will uncalibrate itself, which kinda sucks...

i'm using a Logitech Rumblepad 2, and it doesn't seem like gamepads are all that popular, so is there just not enough people to get rid of all the bugs that there may be?

It'll screw up the second i tap the left joystick (to steer or somethin unimportant like that), usually throwing the brake on as default and the steering way off to the side.

anyone know how to fix this?

EDIT: okay actually it happens the second any input is given.
maybe try locking calibration?

joypads don't work at all when i have that set at "yes".
i have the exact same controller cuse i have no other choice. I used to have these same problems and i finally figured it all out the joypad is old so i would sujjest u get a new controller but neways...esc>options>control>axis>calibrate>(procede to move the axisto their full extent>leave the axis centered>hit all the little c buttons(don't need to hit all but i can't name them atm>lock calibration>esc works for me all the time but this controller is weard and has alot of jitteryness while playing although i have gotten accustomed to goin with the flow of the gamepad and my fingers compensate :P GET A NEW CONTROLLER SAVEYOURSELF :'(

heh, yeah i had a sneaking suspicion that it may be the pad.

i shook it a bit (to see if anything was loose), and the gas (right analog) and steering (left analog) started going haywire. i wasn't pressing anything but the gas and steering were oscillating. illepall

anyone know any gamepads that dont suck? (dont want a wheel, as i play on my laptop wherever i may be, and a pad is just as portable as my laptop )
...can't help ya on the "gamepad that doesn't suck" bit but when u get yourself a new one iwanna know i can't keep this thing forever :\

hmm, i've changed my mind again. i DON'T think it's the controler. in the options menu, the blue and yellow axis don't go crazy, though i can see the steering and gas/break messing up...

i think i'll re-install LFS and see if that fixes it...
When you first start LFS up, move the joysticks from side to side fully. Let us know if that resolves the problem.

that does fix it, but only for the first race i run. after i go back to the menus it's back to being messed up.

is there some sort of patch for this behavior?
Not that I'm aware of. I believe its something to do with a combination of how gamepads report the maximum amount of movement and what LFS believes is right. Just retry the workaround each time you go back into the menus.
this is weird though... it used to not happen at all, now it happens every single time...
