Master LEGO builder? (maybe not, but its worth looking at!)
my dad just sent me this link a few minutes ago about this guy that spent well into the 5 digits (says euros or american) on building it, its 5 meters (16.4 feet) long and 1.2 meters (3.9 feet) tall, and weights ... get this 352 lbs!!! (160kg), thats just under 3 times my weight!

and apparently all the lights work, and amazingly.. the catapult works too!

on the other hand, heres a guy i came across thats making cars out of his LEGOs, fully working engiens with cranksshafts, camshafts, pistons, fully functional gearboxes with clutches and so on and so forth; straight 4's to pneumatic V8's, its impressive!

(NOTE: unfortunate for the videos, if you have the latest windows media player, for some reason they wont play correctly (or.. i need to restart my computer one or the other))
Wow..

Somehow I got a feeling that I should go the warehouse, grab all my Legos (most of which I have stored in their original packages with the instructions ) and start building something as big as possible.

LOL thats really brilliant, reminds me a bit of my childhood when I was in the Legoland in Billund (DK)
Too awesome.
That reminds me of my Lego racetrack I once built, inspired by Grand Prix 2.

I visited it too in 1994, for a 9 years old Lego fan it was real heaven.

Kinda sad that they nowadays Lego is all about this Bionicle shit... I can't even call those with the word Lego.

Yeah.. its a bit sad that Lego is going that way, but they ARE
desperat to SEEELL SEEELLL SEELLLL some stuff, but they cant.

Kids nowadays dont play much with Lego, - they sit in front of their consolgame, pc, whatever
- or watching crappy songcontest on tv.

...but anyway... ...Im proud that Lego is from Denmark.
I used to have so many boxes of Lego as a kid, now I have none and lego today can only be got in shitty kits
Screw the kiddies, let them have their consoles. I say our generation takes LEGO

LEGO's biggest problem is poor design and high prices. If they could design kits that are actually interesting and have a high playability for the kids, they would be more attractive to kids. If they'd lower their prices, they'd be more attractive to the adults who buy them for the kids.
My mum took all my Lego with her when she moved, was mostly Technic stuff but I used to create loads of things.

Used to build motorbikes, trucks, all sorts of machinery. Living on a farm at the timeI had loads of inspiration with different contract machinery coming and going. The best I made was a near fully working sugar beet harvester. Was atleast 25 inches long buy about 6-7 inches wide.

I come across this site some time ago and I've always been amazed with the things this guy can build. Check it out, http://telepresence.dmem.strath.ac.uk/jen/lego/index.htm
Most of my (younger) childhood was spent playing with LEGO. Slowly graduated to computerised entertainment. Last time I played with it was 2 years ago when I built my Technic LEGO robot-car for Uni. So much fun, brought back memories.

I also preferred building some kind of 'realistic' scale models of fictional race tracks around my TYCO formula set instead of racing on it

Whoever did that is a legend!!

I remember Lego... I loved the stuff, my parents didn't because they thought it was a bit expensive... but I always used to play with it... Unfortunately it all got chucked when we moved house last year
Yeah lego was just awesome stuff. Hours spent playing with the technic stuff.
