I don't have fraps myself and am not into making videos from LFS, so I haven't tested this - just thought it might be interesting to others, as an alternative to the analysers currently available. Was looking at this and thought, if it works for RL footage, there's no reason it couldn't work on sim video footage too. Right?
Seems to me that in LFS it's easier and more precise to use the lap data than a video. That's the advantage of a sim, you don't have to buy the expensive hardware to track your car

But still a great product for after track days.
It's a long way round to get inaccurate timings - you have to record your replay, make a video, then place the lap markers on the video yourself. At 30fps this gives you timing resolution of about 0.033(recurring). LFS will give you your times to 0.001.

If you used something like Analyse For Speed you'd get much more data about your laps, and you can compare more than two at once. The only problem with that one is having to set LFS to output the lap data each time.


Nice idea, but I don't think it's any use to a sim racer.
