so how do you go about fixing this svhost problem?

I need to do more testing but one thing I had was Nero7's Nero Scout running in the background which was crap. I got rid of it.
I did a few laps last night and didn't have any studdering but I need to do a more thorough test.

Plus I took the /usepmtimer switch back off of the boot.ini file.

As first I would go Start>msconfig>select "Diagnostic startup"(or how it is called in English Win) and restart.

If there is still some svchost consuming a lot of CPU, the again run msconfig>tab Services>Disable All and restart.

If neither of this helped, then I'd reinstall Windoze...

You find out the process ID of the svchost, then using tasklist /svc find out whats running within that svchost instance (as a lot of varying things can run within them), and see if anything jumps out at you, then start disabling things if they don't. Becareful with what you disable though.

Does any of this look out of the ordinary?
I am way over my head now.
