The online racing simulator
I decided to take the gamble, and it works perfectly, Cheers!

you know, it's good having FFB back again (my Momo FFB worked up to an no further than about 40 degrees)

one thing i'm struggling getting used to is that i'm using clutch with my left foot not the brake and the brake is bloody stiff! What doesn't help is that I can't heel-toe at all either :P

so far, very impressed!

Yeah the brake does takes some time getting used to, but once you're getting the feel of it, its great.

About heel and toe, maybe try and repositioning your pedals, a little higher and a little tilted forward, try to simulate the sort of angles which a real car pedals have, and it'll be a lot easier. I just did that last week and the G25 experience just raised another bar. With enough practise, heel and toe comes as 2nd nature.

you mean raise the back of the pedals up? (where my feet aren't) I'll look into that, but it's quite difficult as it's under my desk (on the desk undertray surface) and raising the back up might cause it to slip i presume if i don't use the right thing to do it!

also, do you guys use the G25 with or without wearing trainers/shoes etc?
I use them with just socks, feels a bit strange wearing shoes and using them.
Quote from mr_x :just got my G25 from Komplett and found that I have the 2pin Euro style plug rather than the 3pin UK plug.

2 questions

1. if i use the same plug from my CD Player (same power ratings on it (i think) - 2.5A 250v) and plug that into the transformer, will that work?

or

2. Will my MOMO power supply work?

Mate, SEND IT BACK, and complain . That , is , i think a UK companie, so you EXPECT uk plugs.
Return it, get ur money back or get em to send you the correct power supply
To be honest, whats the point in doing an RMA over a 50p power cable? The transformers the same for all G25's. The return postage would be 10x the cost of the lead.
If you've got a Playstation, use the plug from that. You won't miss the PS once you've played LFS with the G25

Mine came with a UK lead, so I'm okay though (still haven't booted the PS2 in months though).
Mine came from Komplett with the euro plug also. I just dug out a kettle lead from an old tape player. No problems here. I'm 99% sure there's no compatibility / power issues doing this.

I agree with rtsbasic on this one, got loads of leads around, I've waited almost 3 months for my G25, I'm not gonna send it back for a cheap cable that we have loads of lying around this house anyway!
Woot woot, G25 in the post! Got it second hand off ebay, including post cost about £180. I paid a little extra for it than in the shops, but i cant be assed to wait any longer for it! *throws keyboard out window*
hey lads, this is my frist post, just made the move to full version few days ago, very impressed with the game,

in the shop today i seen the logitech g25, and after reading reviews here im going to go get it in the morning :-)

they only had one left so my luck it will be gone when i get there haha

is the leather one limited edition?

No need for return postage. It's easy enough to contact Logitech and tell them about it and they will mail out a new cable.

AFAIK it isn't

all G25's are with leather...
Quote from lancergsr :is the leather one limited edition?

Yes it is, but no number given on the limited amount!
Quote from Thorvertonian :Yes it is, but no number given on the limited amount!

limited, but every G25 they make they sell, so why there'd be a marketing ploy to sell more im not sure
So there are going to be non-leather G25's as well...? 0.o
The first production batch (probably a few thousand pieces) is the "limited" G25 leather edition. Only when all those are sold out and they actually start the next production batch, then you'll probably have plastic wheel ones. So if you "wait a year or so" till you get the G25, it might already be a plastic one.
so you have rubberlike things then...?

I have to buy a G25 quick then... :/
Quote from BlakjeKaas :I have to buy a G25 quick then... :/

that attitude is the reason why it's there - to drum up more sales, although they really don't need it.

I realised the price wouldn't change that much so i might as well buy one rather than just try to make my old wheel survive.

Damn i wish i got the super postage option!
got mine today, very impressed with it, although i havent used it yet it seems like really nice kit cost 289e bit dearer than places on the net but least i gots one
I got mine just before xmas, unfortunately my left paddle (left view) blew a microswitch around the third time I hit it. (was having a really nice time with the Fusion Racing guys at the time when I had to disappear quickly )

It`d cost me around 10p from Maplins to solder in an exact replacement, but I`m not about to easily risk it being a twisted wire further down inside the body, and blowing my warranty. The choice is - Claim the warranty and give it up for a couple of weeks (or possibly a lot more) and wait for a replacement (thus involving a serious amount of sweating, gnashing of teeth, and goddam it - no feckin` wheel controlled LFS...) or keep playing happily with this lovely bitch forever, and replace the (now unused, I`ve switched views to the wheel buttons) switch at my convenience, and risk a total failure/no warranty .....
I think it's a bit sad that the quality of such a hyped high definition wheel is inconsistent enough to cause so many posts about it, almost everywhere the G25 is discussed. But at least Logitech is very nice when it comes to replacing things, so their calculation was probably to save a lot of $$$ by producing in China and doing returns all the time, rather than investing much more money to get a better output. A bit annoying for the customer, but I guess it works in the end.

I guess it is all down the fact that at that price range there is no competition at all
IIRC the original press release for the G25 stated that it was the product itself that was limited edition. They didn't mention anything about only a leather version being limited nor about a rubber version being released later. However the initial stock allocations that were forecast turned out to be false, ie: Logitech appears to have misjudged the potential popularity and seemingly manufactured much more stock than they originally announced to try to meet the market's higher than expected demand.
Has anyone noticed that the front (or back, depending how you look at it) of the G25 wheel unit is trying to look like the front of a Ford Mustang?

I can't be the only one who's noticed this.
