i don't know about taxi driver, but if you have a dreamcast that plays burned discs (not all of them do), and can speak/read japanese, you can get Tokyo Bus Guide. Its a realisitic bus driving simulator.

and let me tell you, it is every bit as exciting as it sounds.
So if Microsoft has every airport in the world on two DVD's for Flight Simulator X, then that means they can fit all of the worlds streets, roads, highways, freeways, back alleys, avenues, back roads, trails, driveways, racetracks, etc. etc. on, hmmmmmm, say, about 35 DVD's. It could happen! Have at it Microsoft!!!

Your right. You should be able to drive whatever you want on whatever track you want in the world, then load it up on the back of a trailer, drive to the next track, unload, and have at it on another track!!!!

I want to see if I can loose the cops in an Austrailian Truck Train! It could be like one of the missions, like FSX has!!!

but the physics is utter crap.

okay you are not supposed to drive fast being a bus driver but somehow it mattered.

One giant community merged. The race simmers, flight simmers, and The Sims simmers all merged together. That would be really cool.

How on earth do you even dare to dream of something like that, when we have these two schools here who both drive around those same tracks with same cars, but can't stand each other (or so it seems reading all those looong topics..)

There is a way around that. In the open source flight sim, Flightgear, the game installs with only a little bit of terrain, you can then download 10 x 10 segemnts of terrain to your heart's content, and they have the whole world available. A great way to do it.

@mdrodgers- this is the game I've wanted since I was a kid. In 10 years, there will be something like it and it will be quite reasonable.
The problem is that graphics / physics terms, it will be much less detailed than what is out at the time, so it will always be a niche game. Open source community?
Midtown Madness!

Oh god, I played that game so much when I was young!

Full speed with the Panoz GTR over a open brige with cops chasing = gold

Their management of a large project like that would be even worse than Microsoft's. It would simply never get done.
