G25 settings for drifting?
Used to play using mouse/keyboard, recently bought a g25 and trying to drift with it. I find im fighting the wheel to get the car out of fishtails. What does everyone generally use....as in steering lock, force feedback settings..
Thanks

I don't know anything about drifting, but I'm stunned you spend all that money on a G25 and you don't spend the £24 on LFS. Just observing
I don't know if the drifters do anything different, but standard settings would be:

Game Controller Options (in Control Panel):
Degrees of Rotation: 720 at most, some people prefer less - the less you use, the easier it will be to drift (to a point, anyway).
Spring Effect: 0%
Damper Effect: 0%
Centre Spring Strength: 0%

Overall spring effects strength again is user preference, too little and you won't have any feel, too much and you'll be fighting it. Although it should generally help when countersteering.

Steer Centre Reduction: an awkward one. Personally I leave it at 0, so all cars have fixed lock-to-lock (not ideal, but I find anything over 540 degrees too much to race with) but it means steering is always completely linear, thus predictable which I found to help my car control.

I'd imagine you'd want maximum lock in your setups at maximum. Little ideas about other drift settings - there are plenty of drift sets about though, if you're familiar with drifting with the mouse then those sets should still work as intended.
Those are my settings in the profiler, work very well in racing and in drifting too. In lfs I set ff between 15-20

Like Bob says, with 720 degree rotation, 100% overall strength in Profiler, and 15-20% in LFS works good for me. I use the same settings for racing, just bump the ingame FF upto 25-55% depending on which car & which wheels are driven.

Fair point, I went off lfs and tryed other games. Nothing compares when coming to the drifting feeling. Now i want to buy it.

Thanks for the tips will try them when i get home.
I use 30 in game FFB. The rest of the settings are the same as the rest have mentioned.

When I get good enough, I might increase the in game FFB bit more.
Tryed the settings.. alot more stable, still need to practise alot.

@SamH
You made me feel guilty so i bought it. Its a good marketing ploy, are you instructed to do that?

Thanks
Welcome to S2!

Welcome to S2!! Kiss your social life byebyes! LOL!

Honestly, I'm not instructed to do it! LOL! It just struck me square between the eyes.. yanno how it is!

It's a decision I'm absolutely sure you won't regret. You've got a G25, and LFS S2.. you've got access to some great servers, with both drifting and (if you could be coaxed) some fantastic racing on great tracks and in excellent cars.. you're all set!
Maybe you should be getting commision for converting people

With the settings i have read abit and there seems to be alot of talk about having center spring box ticked or not ticked. Also what does everyone use for the e-brake....apart from going all out and making one...
staticxposition, congratz on the S2 license~

Since you're into drifting, I'd like to invite you to LFS-Torque, a great community filled with drifters from all over the world, you'll love it there, drop by and say hi!

ok back on topic, I am currently using the paddle (behind the wheel) as the Ebrake (which I always did when I was still on the momo black), doesn't really work that well with 720 steering rotation though.

Been thinking of modifying my wingman pedals to an Ebrake, still getting ideas...
