The online racing simulator
AI in latest Chrismas 2006 patch seems to be better?
Hi,

I hope this was not discussed allready (haven't seen any post on the subject).

To me in this patch the AI behave much better (in the PRO setting) than in lets say patch S or T. They don't run into tirewalls here and there anymore, they seem to respect me a bit more than before and all of that without having them "learn" the tracks before.

Any opinions on this ? Has Scawen changed the code ? If so, what has been changed?

I'm 99% sure the AI code is unchanged from the first S2 Alpha release. Could be your AIs have just had some practice, and that's why they're better than before.
Hmmm........I did notice this a couple of days ago tbh, they do seem a tad more aware now.

I doubt anything has changed though...........

how do you make the AI learn again?

Everytime i go out the game and then back in it usually says AI's first time on track yet AI 1 and AI 2 etc have been on everytrack loads of times. Am i doing anything wrong? Thanks.

Just by letting them drive. But you need to do that for every car/track/layout combo. They can't transfer knowledge between them.

Also make sure your LFS directory is writable, so the game can store the knowledge files.
To stop the "first time ...." happening, you must:
- Let the race finish
- Use Shift+R or Shift+Q (if qualy)
before leaving.

Probably there exist another options to finish the race.
