LFS and DirectSound3D
I'm reading about the use of DS3D. The articles that I read say that it can apply doppler effect on sounds.

I've never noticed LFS to apply this effect to wav sounds. They are played "as is", but some of them lack doppler (horn).

Does LFS use DS3D? Is it possible to add this effect? Has someone tried to use particulary this effect, and how much CPU does it consume? (any useful material to read?)

As ya do, I searched for the words "doppler" and "horn" before making my improvement suggestion.. and this is the one thread that was returned

Things having changed as they have recently in the sounds department, it seems like a good time to :bump: it and add a..

Didn't the LFS sound updates include a switch to DS3D? I believe Scawen mentioned that. Could be wrong though.

IIRC Scawen only switched the sound engine output from waveOut to DirectSound, but that may be the base to get 3D sounds eventually
