hi , trying to get a new skin to work, followed the lfs skin tutorial but my new skin still doesnt become available to use .......any ideas

What do you mean to work? People cant see it when racing? It needs to be uploaded to LFSworld for others to see it ingame.

go to garage, new colour scheme, decide on name, then browse for the new texture. You did all that, right?

yup done all that. checked data/skins, skin is there. when i downloaded the skin it was the wrong size so i had to edit it to half size. could that be the problem. (sorry . .noobie)

By wrong size, do you mean it was 2048x2048? LFS supports 8-base square sizes. (512, 1024, 2048, 4096, etc) 2048 is just bigger, so its more detailed and looks better in game.
