right im getting 3 22" crt this week/weekend but i only have 2 ports on my card. 1 been a dvi port..

will this let me run 3 monitors or aint it as simple as that..

No it will not. You need Matrox Dualhead2Go or a another PCI or PCI-E graphics card to use all three on desktop.
If you want to run LFS on all three monitors you need to get Matrox Triplehead2Go or use SoftTH by Kegetys.

You could try SoftTH first. It is not so fool proof as TH3Go, but it should atleast work with LFS and it is free so no loss in trying it.
