G25 Not central.
To drive straight in lfs is anyone else having to turn their g25 slightly because for me to drive straight i have to turn about 10 degrees right.
I went to play lfs the other night and turned on my g25, set up lfs as usual then wen to race to find that my wheel centre was about a 90 degree left turn, at first i thought it was an lfs calibration issue but no, the g25 full ffb locks were at there 720 position just my 'centre' was well off. Left lfs unplugged g25, plugged it calibrated again and it worked fine. BUT now im noticing that i have to turn right slightly for it to be straight in lfs and im pretty sure that it wasn't when new.
Anyone else have this problem? Or has someting gone wrong? If no one else does then ill send it back as i also have the slight noise problem which seems to be gettin louder
Try and crank the wheel fully to the right or left when it is unplugged (so no FF), and then replug the device in and let it self-calibrate (dont touch it!). You may have to do it a few times, and then see if it is ok afterwords. The wheel rotation/degrees amount sometimes isn't correct for me when I have to do this off-centered fixing. So you gotta go into the control panel and make sure your degrees is correct, and that the wheel is centered in your hands, and on the screen showing that little wheel icon.
You can also use DXTweak2 to manually set the center.
Too late to try tonight but will give both a go tomorrow

This wont help if your are using a rotation amount that is less than 900 degrees.

The actual degree of rotation is skewed, so centering it would not help, it would only give you a result that makes the wheel look centered, but not the degree of rotation from lock to lock.

Example shown here if your degrees was 180, and you tried to use DXTweak to fix it -- (blue line)

I use 720 maximum as i obviously the road cars are 720. I found out though at 900 degrees when turning left i hit the ffb lock bout 10 degrees before i hit the actual lock stop.

Will have a look at it tonight thought when im at home
Just replug your usb cable, the wheel will recalibrate and it should be fine after that.

It happens to mine sometimes too, pretty often.

Thats the answer thanks, although its odd how it calibrates wrong sometimes and not others
It calibrates correctly all the time, but for some reason it loses calibration if the wheel is just sitting there plugged in . Once it loses calibration at random times, when you try and recalibrate it thinks the incorrect calibration was just fine.

I don't know what causes it, but it takes me a few times to plug it in/out just to get it correctly calibrated. Happens every now and then, but definitely something affects the wheel, not sure what.
My wheel isnt the G25, its the crappy Logitech Nascar, i have to move it 7 degrees to the left, and i plugged and unplugged it and nothing seems to fix it
mines a piece of shit, shifter wont go into reverse, and its louder turning 1 way

You wouldn't tell that to the mystery broad that bought it for you now would you?
It actually doesn't register it's center until a second or 2 after the self- calibration.

Mine does the lock to lock and sometimes doesn't return to the middle, all I do is quickly move it to perfect middle straight away... soon after this will store as the middle and all good.

I find this much better than replugging... you just have to be paying attention when you first boot up
I found my problem out, i would turn my g25 on then turn my pc on in some cases, as the computer boots up the wheel calibrates and then when it goes from windows screen onto log in screen, the lights flash on the g25 and if your turn it in those few seconds it takes the centre as we you moved it too. My problem was i stand up turn wheel on and pc on then sit down and i kept knowcking my wheel, now ive learnt to just leave it and all is fine
or plug it out and in when your cables get stuck :X
