Information request from Widow maker
Does anyone have link to handling/suspension analysis of widow maker (old Porsche 911 turbo, 1978 or something like that), I'm bit interested of if reason was suspension or just tires of that time combined to gigantic turbo lag and massive power?

I did try to search, but can't come up with anything, maybe just using wrong words or something.

Also were these used how widely in racing?

Sorry from asking stupid questions, but Porsches have never been too much of interest for me before, too distant

Well, there are two reasons, basically. One is the rear-engine layout. If the back steps out, there's quite a bit of weight in motion, which makes it difficult to catch. The other is the suspension setup. Older 911's used "trailing arms" for the rear wheels and these can induce "snap" oversteer when the driver lifts the throttle or brakes.
