It's just another rF mod

I think so too.

...Hearing Grand Am made me think of CanAm, which made me think of the later revisions of the 917 (5 litre, 1100 hp, 0-300km/h in 11.3 seconds), which made me think LFS needs more content.

Shame about the physics engine

Who are Fusion interactive? Have they proven to have an understanding of physics? Would that be enough to get anything useful out of the ISI engine?

Using the ISI engine doesn't mean it has to be as bad as GTR or the typical rF mod but it will always be limited to some extent.
Fusion came from a defunct mod group for the ISI F1 series games. To my knowledge, they only released a few cars despite being in 'business' for years. I forget the name of the old mod team, but IIRC Fusion was formed by some of the team's core members.

Personally, I'm not expecting much; but if it's fun I'll consider buying it.
Oh no ... not Daytona Prototypes AND ISI

(<== Likes open prototypes or at least closed ones with narrow cockpits)
