sorry i am new to this i cant change horns or engine sounds can anyone help me please and some good horns and engine sounds would be gratfully recived thanks

changing horn sounds: replace the HORN1.wav, HORN2.wav, etc in your data\sounds directory.

changing car sounds:

tried that put them in sounds and sent other horns to reycycle bin load it up and it comes up in red cant load the files

no point in deleting them

they have to have the right names; if they dont then.. obviously they wont work
and joen has pointed out how they should be named

put your police car file into sounds named it HORH5.wav still wont go please help

name it HORN5.wav
Then it will have to work, unless it's not really a .wav file and you just changed the extension or something, I don't know.
Switch between horn sounds with shift-h (i believe, i don't ever change them).

I believe the horn sounds are not .wav extension files, but .raw files IIRC.

you will need a sound editor or convertor to make .raw files from your wavs

I am sure there are some demo versions of sound editors that you can d/l for free trial ect

They used to be, but not anymore since Patch V (or one of the last U test patches, can't remember)

Which brings me to asking cocky: which LFS version are you using?
thanks for bringing it up, didn't think about that as a possible reason for the problem

allright, than that's your problem right there. Download the latest patch from the LFS website (patch V), and you won't have to convert to RAW files, plus you get the latest improvements to the game.

i have down loaded patch v got a stupid clackson horn but still cant change to other ones
