Modifications to a DFP.
As the title says, has anyone done any? If so, how easy / disaterous is it?

I wouldn't mind sticking a bigger wheel on and possibly making a small unit
on the top of the base for any buttons that cant stay on the wheel. But i'm
not sure if it would completly feck my wheel up.
i can lay testament to the Frex products! I have the wheel adapter for my DFP for 19 months now, best purchase ever!
I do find it pretty expensive, though. I mean, the adapter and the cheapest wheel they have amounts to almost 240 €. Add the button box and you're looking at 286 €. That's a lot of money for a little extra usability.
This is mine, I didn't do it myself though but looking at the instructions it doesn't look to complicated.

It's a really nice wheel but the screws that go into those hexagon things at the back losen off when I drive but apart from that it's perfect.

You could make a small standalone unit that sits ontop of the crest where the Logitech logo is on the top of your wheel. Just in the middle of the clamps. The only other thing I could think of is that Frex kit people have posted, although its alot of money. To make that standalone box you could just buy a cheap gamepad and use circuit board and buttons from that. Pretty easy.
Total cost of €15, building time 2-3 hours. skill level: almost none.

I swear by my Frex kit .

Rtsbasic made the adapter for me.

The DFP handles the 35cm wheel easily.
