Disabling body damage repairs
There should be an option to turn the repairs for body damage off (maybe on the fly), because now the innocent victim of a collision suffers a lot because the pit crew repairs the damage for a quite long time. Ofcourse this is due to the fact that the body damage does not necessarily affect the car performance, so a driver most probably would not want to spend extra time in the pits, if the car still works ok. Now (version V) it's really frustrating to sit in the pits basically for nothing.
I think its been suggested already, along with the option to decide in which pitstop you want to make your stop & go.

+1 though
+1 when car body damage affects performance. Until then the only 'penalty' you have for hitting/being hit is the pitstop. With this it goes some way to encourage you to avoid hitting people or being hit (and yes, you can avoid being hit).

This is more complicated than it first seems.

There is some rules how there can't be loose parts in car etc. So those are at least needed to tape or be removed if we are going to follow full race realism. Current damage model of course does not have this issue, but in future it might be very well issue when damage is more advanced.

So +1, but need to think bit of this rules aspect.

The current damage model is way too forgiving so if you're really struggling with the fact you have a penalty for driving into things or being driven into you're not going to like it the day the FOX suddenly rears its ugly side and shows it isn't for touring car racing. Until then that penalty is one of the few anti-contact incentives we have.
Quote from tristancliffe :+1 when car body damage affects performance. Until then the only 'penalty' you have for hitting/being hit is the pitstop. With this it goes some way to encourage you to avoid hitting people or being hit (and yes, you can avoid being hit).

+1 to this. So that's -1 for now.
