not another weather suggestion!
This is just something i was thinking of.. we should get wet weather etc in later stages, but has it already been suggested like selecting, clear to wet changing.. or wet clearing up..?

THis would be really good for championships with heats, if 1 heat is raining , the next heat could be clearing up etc..
I think changing/random weather has been suggested before. Somewhere
Anyhoy, I'm for it

Suggested many times. Would be great, pit strategies for longer races, coping with radically different driving conditions.

I don't know wether I want wet weather...
Whoever can guess the name of the track in the picture gets a cookie.
And yes, there are more than 3 cars in the 15 meters ahead of the driver.

Spa, Hockenheim, or the 'Ring ?
:yummy:
Saw Mercedes Arena on the video, did a google search and found this:
"...Further revisions to the track since then have included the addition of a 583 metre section called the Mercedes Arena prior to the 2002 race..."

Nurburgring.
Wet weather racing

It would be good to get changing weather conditions but i see 1.5 problems with it

1. LFS so far has been built to run on, in all honesty, low spec PC's where as i would expect the physics to not be much of a problem, but the graphics side to make it look 'real' could be a problem.

0.5 - It would be nothing for the pick up and play online races really so would only really effect leaugues.

Still all for it +1.

Apart from the rain it looks like a normal T1 event in LFS
The red flag should have been shown when the first Saleen span

If we had weather in LFS, there should be an option to have it as "physics only rain" for lower spec PCs.

But we would also need snow, sleet and hail.
that is why marshals should wear brown trousers

So that they don't have to display spray? In which case it removes 99.9% of the problems of wet weather racing. It's not the decrease in grip that makes it hard, but the lack of visibility (meaning you can't see puddles, other cars etc). So EVERYTHING needs to be calculated. Can't get decent fps in the wet? Then don't join wet servers. Simple.

I was thinking Spa or Hockenheim, but the new Hockenheim doesn't have those blasts through the forest any more.

I think the red flag should have been shown before the race even started. However, it's not a marshal's decision to show the red flag. Only one person can make that decision, and it takes a while to radio in to them. Then when it is thrown, it has to make its way to each post round the track from the start/finish line.

I think a low res version could be easily created, still causing an equal amount of challenge but without being so flashy.

Actually, if it was made by hacking a bit, the range of visibility could be decreased very much and then LFS would render far less and should be faster (well, it would be compensated with other stuff).
