wheel gearshift button rate detection?
My DFP is showing some age, and i'm starting to get occasional double up/downshifts with paddles.
In rFactor (sorry for talking about the rival ) there is a text edit in which you can configure a small timeframe when no more than 1 shifting is possible. (e.g.200ms) - problem solved!
Am i beeing clear here?
In LFS i found a parameter called "gearshift debounce" - i messed with it but no luck!
Anyone knows exactly what the parameter means, or any way to solve the issue?
Of course, i could go the hardware route and replace the switches - and that might not be an easy task!

Thanks

Gearshift Debounce - How often you can change gear (ie if it was set to 200 - once every 200 ms) - if your wheel often double shifted you could tweak it so that the doubleshifts weren't actually making it change gear
yeah -that's what i thought - i also put it in 200ms - but not effective, i guess!
hope the feature is not broken...
i'll do some more testing and report back.
well -it works to some extent...
if i use 200ms i get much less double shifts than if i use 20ms - but i still get them once in a while.
Would it be possible to extend a bit this range?
It's curious in rFactor i use this exact value (200ms) and it solves completely the problem!

Do you think i should post this in the improvement suggestions section?

Afterall there are many DFP users out there, and they don't get any younger - both the users and the DFP's !

rFactor can't count to 200. Takes too long, and thats how it solves the problem.

It might be an improvement suggestion, to make a higher value available.
in fact, as my buttons get worse i really had to put 250ms in rFactor...
I have a bit more controller lag in rF than in LFS, so that could be the reason rF won't detect your double shifts. The built-in lag comes in addition to you 200ms enforced lag.

200ms is not really that long, and if you controller generate the second press upon release of the button you could well exceed the debounce.
200 cured almost all of my double upshifts on dfp but was still getting a few

then i realised that what was actualy happening was that i had previously been trying to be very positive with paddle to avoid double shift and as a result i had developed an occasional hesitancey which meant i was pulling paddle twice, hardly ever get a double shift now
