Well yeah basically I have the problem that the skins which are made by others cant be opened in the game. I place them in the skins folder and when I try to make a new paintscheme, go to xrt, there are only the original skins and not the skins I've added. I hope someone knows whats wrong. Well yeah i found out the other topics and I didn't manage to get it done. It might be just me but it really doesn't work.. any suggestions?!

"doesn't work" is not a very well formulated error description... WHAT does not work? do you have problems editing the skin? or problems using it in lfs?

Hi, are they renamed properly? eg for the xrt car

My bet is he thinks when he puts a skin in the folder, he'll get that skin nexto all the other ones already there. But instead he has to make a new colour, add the skin to it and use it, which is useless when you're a demo player really.

Guys, I did all of that already. It does not work. No skins work for me. My problem is, I want to buy S2 only when the skins work. I am not going to buy it when the skins don't work. All the files I have are XRT_Gspecdrift.jpg or XRT_Silvia.jpg like those things. But they don't work when I creat a new colour, set all the tabs to white colour and press xrt; only the original 4 are displaying. Also the fact that I dont have a skins_x folder may contribute to it? I know the skins_x folder is for skins which you are not going to use; only going to view but it is not a sidemap in the skins folder itself.

Strange most of us have had S2 for over a year and never had a problem with creating a new profile/skin, you must not be following the tutorial properly if I follow it (even knowing how to do it) I always get it correctly showing in game?

Skins DO work, they work for everyone except you, so YOU are doing something wrong, I'll try and make it as clear and as simple as possible for you, and you BETTER buy S2

1) Make skin for XRT car, rename skin XRT_myskin.jpg, place that file in LFS/data/skins

2) Run LFS

3) Get to the car select screen

4) Press GARAGE

5) Press NEW COLOURS

6) Call it my skin

7) Set ALL sliders to white

8) Press the button next to the cars name at the bottom of the screen , it should say DEFAULT

9) Pick your skin, XRT_myskin

10) Thats it

It's not a map in the skins folder, it's in the same place as the skins folder. I'm not sure, but I think you should have one (empty though), AFAIK if you put a skin in the skins_x folder it should work online, not sure about that.

Are you sure you're putting the files in the correct folder and you are using the right car? It might sound stupid, but maybe you're trying to have an XRT skin on an XRG. We have to go through all options, I know it's stupid.

A common oversight occurs when someone is using the CMX Viewer and saves their skin there but not to LFS itself. Worth a look.
