Deer aren't so much of a problem here but sheep are, and one of the joy's of NZ is a law which states that if you hit a sheep wandering on the road YOU have to pay the farmer for damaging his stock.
Most people would think that it's up to the bloody farmer to keep his sheep INSIDE the fence and if their wandering around on a road then he's at fault but no.

Mate of mine hit one on his bike & he and his girlfriend were bleeding on the road & all the farmer could say was how he owed him $100 for his sheep......

Yupp, my trusty car is totalled. But as I know a toyota mechanic (who actually restorated that very car), he might be able to fix it.
