But also the most boring, dull, girliest 'supercars' ever made. Not one single driving fanatic in the world would want one, just people who like looking at car stats or who like playstations.
Nobodies said anything like a Westfield, Radical or Ariel Atom, which is surprising since they're the epitome of cars worth driving.
For those wanting a car that'll put hair on their chest - Hennesey Twin Turbo Viper, '85 Porsche 911 Turbo, '69 Plymouth Roadrunner 6-pack (400hp with drum brakes), Shelby Super Snake (or Daytona or 427 GT500 (none officially made)), '68 427 Chevrolet Corvette (or LT-1 Camaro), '69 Plymouth Hemi Barracuda, Aston Martin V8 Vantage ... and so on. Now those cars have balls.
(edit: Jensen Interceptor FF can go on the list too )
I think the Corvette afficionados much prefer the C2 over the C3, and quite frankly I do too. In terms of performance I think they're about equal as long as you're talking about early C3's. Both were available with the 427 (that's a 7 liter V8) and had almost exactly the same mass (at least according to ultimatecarpage.com).
However, in the 70's, the C3 was rather severely neutered in terms of power as a result of the new emissions laws. Even worse, it picked up a lot of weight. In 1978, the C3 with a 350 made 220HP and weighed 3540 lbs. Compare this to the 1963 C2 with a 327 which made 300HP and weighed 3137 lbs.
Direct quote from ultimatecarpage.com:
"Today the C2 or 1963-1967 Corvette is among the most desirable of all Corvettes built in the last 50+ years."
Corvette is crap when talking about performance and handling, so we can forget those, they won't affect at all how car looks and C3 looks much better than C2 that is like sketch of C3, still was looking it's style.
However it is not best looking car there is.
I don't see why they make different brands of those supercars btw, they all look same really
So you prefer the one that looks like a wang on wheels to the one that looks like it rolled off a sci-fi B-movie set?
The Corvette is great when talking about performance and handling, if you could master driving a big block C2 around Riverside (with the cross ply tyres and drum brakes all round) then you could handle anything!
Those older Vettes sure had some handling 'characteristics', it is not very bad compared to other cars of that time, just today it's engine is not too powerful anymore so only beauty of that body is something that supersedes any current car
you do realize, that other than pictures 2, 3, 10, and 11 (of mine), the exterior was completley stock other than rims? I fail to see how that is rice. Very clean and subtle if you ask me, other than the picture numbers i stated above.
