NEW flat screen
I have a new flat screen , native res 1680X1050
i run a radeon 1650 AGP, 512
LFS run really well, ofcourse, but i do get som estutters at 30 FPS in turn 1 of KY Nat, well any full 20 + car race- normal? (P4 3.4 4 gig ram) after that and the field spreads I am at 100 FPS...
IN other games like day of defeat/ counter strike um why won't my FPS go over 45? is it because the refresh rate at the native resolution of the monitor is 60hz? or is it the drivers? (NGO optimized ati drivers)
It's perfectly normal that LFS stutters at starts of big races. There is a lot of physics calculation going on when there are lots of cars on the vicinity.
You probably have Vertical Sync turned on, which limits the frame rate of the game to a certain level. There should be an option in the game

Try running the game at a lower resolution and with no AF amf AA. If it speeds up then you are asking yoo much of your graphics card.

thanks
i tried turning it down, and not a big difference, i mean the stuttering is like 29 FPS... not really bad, in fact it has always done that, i thought a new graphcis card and all the ram my MoBO can use (4gig) I thought this would be cured..gues it is my processor
