Kev, that wasn't the Chuck Taylors making you think you can jump buildings, it was the drug and/or alcohol abuse.
Steelies = steel wheels. Yes, it was a joke. Movin on...
Kev, I can relate to being a weed and damn did I love my docs, not only were they biff-proof but they were utterly mosh-proof too (the 90s was like one long, stinking moshpit for me - no comment on alcohol/drug abuse, there may be children present)!

Seems we've steered this puppy OT a bit. Sorry everyone! First round's on me ...

You're too young to remember the early '90s. Shush. But well done on the footwear-to-lifestyle parallel. You're not far off the mark.

I do remember stage-diving to my own band a few times. If I ever visit Cook's colonies I will look you up. I visit Whitby quite often but the Endeavour is never sailing when I go.
This may have been covered elsewhere so i'll keep it short. I definitely don't want to see bodykits and the like in LFS, but to have a clone of something like AEM EMS, Hondata, Chrome, etc., would be really fun IMO. Something not as drastic as Tweak that could be sanctioned somehow.
Yes, I understand it would be a lot of work for the devs, but I'm just throwing it out there....
Yes, do check us out Kev! But we're not Cook's colonies anymore (though Cook's cottage can be found in Melbourne's parklands) - we're rapidly turning into the 51st United State :expressio

Pfft! We've already reserved #51. Get in line!

I think we're (me and the missus) planning to visit eastern Europe this summer. Croatia is the current favourite. But maybe next year.

It's strange that I have Captain Cook in common with someone on the other side of the world. Explorers FTW.
Dang, you're right. That's cool though - we'll just hold out hope that Tony will keep Shrub occupied until we can vote in a proper Australian for our PM, and kick our current little dessicated coconut (as one noted ex-PM called him yesterday ) to the kerb...

Good old Cooky. Bless his Yorkshire puddin'. He quite admired the Aborigines when we has here and thought they seemed a heck of a lot happier than his European contemporaries, despite their lack of such 18th century modernities as science, boats, clothing & scurvy. I reckon he was spot on. Pity the next boatloads in 1788 didn't share his respect for the locals actually ...

Crumbs, OT again! Oh well, that's an occupational hazard when you bring up a popular topic like tuning
You should go to Canada :P We have beer, and polar bears, OH! and we have Igloos.

It's OK, New Zealand is just a 4-hour flight away. They have kiwis, pit barbecues, goblins and millions of Germans on mountain bikes. That's where I'll build my bunker when it all goes to hell (I should go stock up on cans of beans, thanks for reminding me) ...
Quote from thisnameistaken :I wish my quote would include your attachment where the car's registration plate reads "FWD LOL".

That is beauty.

Haha, i know. I really want that vanity plate, but i dont wanna copy him. In LFS my plate is "OMGHI2U".

I do still find Cook quite fascinating. Whitby was a favourite spot for summer holidays when I was a nipper, so Cook has always been quite the real-life adventurer for me. It's odd to think that a short bloke from Yorkshire provided maps of most of your continent. It's funny too, to read suppositions of undiscovered coastlines with the knowledge we've got now.

The missus has already been to Canada - she did a rail trip from east to west. I tried to enter Quebec by road from Vermont and got turned back at the border. That's quite the microcosmic version of my life, actually!
Bah, who'd want to go into Quebec.
Quote from dawesdust_12 :Bah, who'd want to go into Quebec.

They asked me the funniest questions though. The one that sticks in my mind - ten years on - is "Do you have any furniture?". While the other border guard was busy flashing mirrors under the car and searching our luggage. All that, and they never bothered to search us personally.
Hey, you know that furniture smuggling, its a huge business, especially in compact cars and sedans, they are the best possible cars to smuggle furniture.
Totally. I really had no idea what the hell they were trying to do. In the end - and I'm suddenly getting deja vu like I've told this story in this forum before now* - she said to me (for the nth time) "So why do you want to visit Canada?". I replied "Why; does it suck?". And we went back to the USA.

* I knew deleting 4000 of my old posts would pay off one day.
Anywho, don't mind us, go back to talking about the thrilling topic of "WHAT ABOUT TUNING!!!"
Sorry, I meant to discuss tuning in my last reply: We drove up there in a Nissan Sentra, we put $10 of gas in it in New Jersey, and I think we managed to get to Quebec and back for $10, which is about 800 miles. If we'd put a stupid ****ing spoiler on the car we never would've managed that.
But the body kit you could have put on, could have made your MPG get halved :P
Just to get back on topic a little: I don't want tuning. Or ricey mods or kits or blingin' rims. But fluffy dice - aw HELL yeah It'd be a great indicator of how accurately the g-forces are simulated.

Back off topic: Canada rocks - go Senators!
**** the Sens, Go Habs!

And everyone knows Ontario based teams are the suck.
Quote from dawesdust_12 :But the body kit you could have put on, could have made your MPG get halved :P

Hahaha. I just Google image'd "Nissan Sentra" and the first two results were screenies from NFS! The idea that someone would try to turn our road-trip econobox into a pimpmobile is going to have me laughing 'til morning.

Goodnight!
I personally love my moms Nissan Sentra, especially the way she drives it... AKA like a possessed maniac, getting up to like 150 kmh on highways with me in it, and she doesn't even realize it... Then they don't trust me to drive when I get my licence...
Quote from dawesdust_12 :**** the Sens, Go Habs!

Thought they spoke English in Canada? It's "t3h suX0r lolz!!!1"

BTW I don't follow the Sens - I found a Daigle t-shirt in an op-shop years ago. Lordy knows how a Daigle shirt ended up in an Aussie op-shop
Could you please cut down the nonsense? We are having an intellectual conversation about body kits - this discussion can well change the direction of LFS. So far we haven't heard not even one good reason why tuning should not be in LFS. It's all about style!

And if you put a wing on your (fwd) car upside down it will generate lift - aaaand(!) this means that the car will be lighter, in fact! And it would mean that the power to go faster needs to be smaller to get greater speeds!

Randomness!

(you have never even seen a real polar bear)
