That hump on the hood and the weird shark fin on the roof are ugly, but if you ignore those, it does look great...except the interior which is boringly gray.

What a horrible looking car - BMW have completely lost any respectability in the looks department, and have clearly had to resort to silly swoops and curves to try and attract the same class of idiot they always have...

One day a mature, sensible person will buy a BMW, but it's not happened yet (at least in the UK) (apart from Scawen )

I haven't liked BMW's new designs that make the lights look all sharp and pointed. Ever since they've designed the "ugly shark" Z4, the new designs are putting me off.

The rear is nice, and I am glad it looks good this time around. But the frontends are worse and worse, I hope they come up with something else soon... plus the headache bulge you guys mentioned :doh:

Imho, looks more bland and ricy than the previous M3...

Yeah I thought the rear resembled a Lexus A LOT too. Funny you should point that out at first glance, I thought the same

Oh dear the downward spiral continues, the E30 and E36 M3s were attractive cars the E46 wasn't as good but hardly ugly then they turn up with this, they haven't even bothered to paint the roof or clean the foot well on the show car!

Really this carbon fibre everywhere is getting silly, on racing cars there can be various reasons why small surfaces may be left as bare carbon fibre to save the complication of painting, maybe weight and because if done tastefully it can look purposeful. Leaving an entire roof or bonnet unpainted on a road car just looks stupid.

actually painting carbon is dead easy

not painting is even easier

E30 M3 is a legend nothing more to add. E36 M3 i dont really like the look of it, dunno. E46 M3 another legend IMHO. ok i really didnt like the first E90 but i have to say

E30 is/was the best. I would rather buy a used e46 CSl then this ugly thing. Maybe the V8 can change my mind... It's realy a shame how bad all new BMW looks. But i don't see any real alternative for a sporty RWD car at a reasonable price.

Worse M3 ever and I've loved the previous ones. The bonnet bulge doesn't look good on it as it's not a muscle car to require it. The whole shape is odd and the back lights are too much like an Audi only more suckier.

I always thought the M5 was the big touring horse of a BMW and the M3 was the small quick car, but now...

I guess its more of competition than anything, the new Lexus IS has 400hp I believe, Audi RS4 has a tonne as well. Isn't this M3 rumoured to weigh 1600kg? Imagine the tires you'll go through if you drive it sportingly at all.

The little Colin Chapman inside me dies a little bit everytime I see a car get "improved" by adding a bigger engine, more weight, more electronics...
