I'm frustrated... I need miles!!!
I simply cannot do proper speed setups with this quarter mile....

Does anyone know if the devs are going to make like a 5 mile long test track, or a long oval, anything? Any tweaks available? Anything?

I get pretty bored on a day to day basis and I like to tweak cars in LFS, either properly, or with LFS tweak, but I need a runway! I've been watching too much Top Gear and the recent episode with the Bugatti Veyron is making me go crazy, I must duplicate something fun like that!

*cry*

meh.. unfortunatly there's no long (read: really long) stretch of straigt road in any of the current LFS tracks..

Really long road would be my dream! Imagine driving 600 Km/h
Only valid reason i could think of for a really long straight road would be to test the top speed of your set up. If you know you reach 150mph down the straight of track but on long road you reach 180mph you know you can shorten your gears. You can set gear length on tracks quite easily though.

Surely this go in improvement suggestions as we can't add out own tracks.
I'd just like something like Bob's analyser built in to LFS
how can going straight be fun?
When you slipstream someone 10 times on long straight it could be fun

No you didn't. You just spun the wheels so fast that the speedometer showed 999, (which is btw easily achievable if you flip the car and have freely spinning wheels). The maximum speed LFS will let you go is 720km/h (= 447mp/h = 200m/s), as soon as you go over that your car will be reset.

so te physics engine is limited to this? you dont even need to go that fast 320mph is good
If you really want to set your gears. The correct way, is to set your top gear, so it is just redlining at the end of the longest straight. At that point, you will have the highest top speed you can attain on that straight. Then the lower gears are set relative to that, and adjusted for acceleration for particular corners (important ones).

ah you see ur wrong there! ive done 545mph upside down.

yeah and that's because of your wheel spinning free, you ain't actually doing 545mph

if the BODY of your car reaches that speed your reset - i've hit about 13k MPH (loooking at the amount of times the speedo went round!) in an upside down BF1

I've taken a MRT to that kinda speed, digital speedo stuck at 999, and the clock kept going round until the rev limiter kicked in
question, how can you get the mrt tweakt? i know you need to unlock S1 or S2 first but when you have that the tweak only changes settings on the XR(T) and UF
Tweak only works for XFG, XRG and XRT.

No, I didnt tweak. I got a MRT, set the gear ratios to the longest, flipped it over and floored it. The gearbox speed is 999999999etc, but the ACTUAL speed is 0.

Try it with a XRT, set the gears to longest and flip it over and floor it in 5th, see the 999+ some up
yeah thanks, but i've seen a screenshot of the BMW sauber F1 with 9831 HP
Start a server on your computer, with the BF1 enabled, and I'll join and show you how.
euhm im still on demo, so i cant start that server btw i cant start a server anyway unfortunatly. so how come it is possible online?
