Leave everything as it is.

Until the tyre model improves a bit (the rate of regaining traction specifically), then

Both!
Nobody seems to have mentioned it was the UF GTR that replaced the LX8, not the UF1000.

Also we suspect the LX8 would have been very difficult to drive. It's possible it might turn up again later though, so don't put it to the grave just yet.
Both, I really like the UF1000, but I'd like the LX8 GTR too

This is not the proposed GTR version with wings, this is like the Westfield with a Rover V8. I think it's too much engine for the chassis, if it's realistic the LX8 will be slower than the LX6.

Erm, how? Especially considering there is no chassis flex in LFS, so basically all chassis are perfect.
After seeing some points, u guys changed my mind - stick both in.
the lx8 seemed to also be pretty far in development(poor guys who were making skins for it!) but then maybe the price would go up. ie more car
Does anyone have viewer LX8 cmx files?
There never were any! I guess Eric might have some hidden away somewhere...
I also think if the LX8 'didn't make it', there's a reason !
Why on earth would they hype the car and not release it, i doubt
they enjoy deceiving people My guess is also that the engine
might unbalance the whole chassis because :

1- the chassis is too light/engine too heavy (relatively...)
and
2- the engine having too much torque
emphasises the
3- lack of traction at low speeds.

So far, only the FO8 and GTR cars can deal with lots of power, and
that's ONLY once downforce starts pushing on the cars. They still are
hard to control at low speeds.

Anyone try to make a tweak of the LX6 to replicate the LX8 ?
Of course, i mean in an older version of LFS...gulp.
The LX8 didnt make it because it's boring to have only one car per class...
And actually the LX8 was removed to get the UFR in
...which is great as the little UFR is such a fun car to squirt round the shorter tracks in LFS. I reckon in 12 months I've only ever done about 10 laps in the LX6. I'm just not good enough to handle it. The LX8 would be a disaster with me behind the wheel

I concur. (Not that the LX8 would be a disaster with you behind the wheel but that the UFR is alot of fun)

Need to add chassis flex to my wish list along with diffs, open top Minis just look so stupid.

I don't see why not have included both though. Surely there's a reason to NOT
include it. Like you say, having it in a class of it's own is a reason. Having
another car is not a reason. What decides the maximum cars to release at a
time ?! So the fact that it may have hairy handling AND that it has no direct
competition makes sense to me. Perhaps when more cars are released and the
physics get improved, the LX8 will find it's place.
It's bad game design to substract options for no benefit, when you could have added some at no cost.

I did when I made all the S2 cars (with provisional specs) for S1.

However you couldn't get slicks onto the LX6. I don't think I ever drove it once I made it. I've only just got the LX4 sussed in S2 and the LX6 just seems to have a touch too much power for the amount of grip (hence all the slicks arguments). Even with slicks I can't see an LX8 being driveable with more than about 250bhp. 340bhp is going to be spin city.

The LX6 is fine unless you break too hard. Which I usally do, as I underbreak all the time, so I try and compensate, and I do too much. Then I'm sideways >.<

I so can't do peddles. Thank god I don't drive
Spin city is guaranteed fun... what's to lose by adding it?

Unless that option DEGRADES the quality of the game. Knowing
Scawen, i'm sure he'd remove stuff simply because it's not up to
his quality standard. LFS should improve, not be an eternal beta.
Also, the game is considered a full release, not a test beta, so the
options/cars/tracks should also reflect this. I'd bet he didn't like the
handling and along with other factors, decided it was better not to
release it, at least not yet. Quality over quantity.
Yep, that would be a cost.
Are you posting from a tablet PC or something?
Quote from Breizh :Are you posting from a tablet PC or something?

lol, nope, but you are probably the first in 3-4 years to say anything about it.
See, i format my text so it fits in this little window i'm typing in now. The
window ends right about there --------------------------------------------->|

It makes my replies seem longer than most when in reality they're not that
much. I'm a bit obsesive-compulsive when it comes to information and text.
I just find it more legible this way, considering i re-read my replies BEFORE
posting, sometimes not posting them at all. I'd recommend that to some
people sometimes. Not the formatting, but re-reading before you post.
