I'm trying to configue my XBOX 360 Wired Controller to use with LFS.

I want to configure the triggers, right and left, to the gas and brake, respectively.

I've tried all sorts of combinations and all but nothing seems to work. In other racing games (e.g., rFactor) I can do this easily, using split axis.

I'm using XP.

Are you using the XBCD community drivers? I used to use the 360 controller with LFS and was able to do split axis easily. Make sure you have the trigger axes setup properly in the driver setup. You might have to hit recalibrate in LFS if things are not working properly.

ive found that it does work, but the steering is so messed up that its not worth it.

I have a 360 controller, and the problem with it, is that the drivers share an axis, the XBCD drivers are much superior and you can customize everything how you want, including the axis that buttons are attached to.
