Not sure if this is the right section but it's a noob question

I use telewest for phone, broadband and tv but since virgin bought out telewest lost sky one then i dont want the tv. Also i noticed Sky's offer of tv, phone and broadband for cheaper BUT it comes with a 40 Gb monthly download limit. I am sure LFS wont get anywhere near that limit but how much (or little) of that limit would LFS take up?

I guess that even with excessive 24/7 online racing with a full grid and chaninging skins for every racer at every race, you wouldn't hit 1 GB, let alone 40

I'm not sure of the figure for LFS, but 40GB is a healthy and very useful chunk. You should'nt have any worries.

Yeah - I've got reasonable low limits (sorry can't remember what they are) and when I first got LFS I absolutely caned it for weeks. Still never hit a limit so probably you don't have to worry.

I don't use torrents, but I surf a lot and I never got above 5-6GB per month.
I have a 768/192 connection with no volume limit.

I think 40GB is a very relaxed limit.

I saw you first post again, and you are mentioning a TV service also. I only have internet for surfing, so no much comparison with yours and my connection, but the program I suggested might still be useful.

Greboth, I really don't recommend moving to sky broadband :/ Cable seems alot better then adsl, and theres less issues, and free upgrades . They're upgrading the 10mb service to 20mb sometime in the summer i think . And with all that speed and unlimited downloads, just download the tv shows you're missing :P.

It depends on a few things like the settings on the server and how busy it is. Rough ideas for download and upload would be about 5kB/sec download and 1kB/sec upload. A combined 6kB/sec means roughly 20MB per hour. An average of an hour a day for a month would therefore take about 600MB for the month.
