As long as LFS stays true to what it is (as always), I don't see the bad side of having this "feature" included, IMO anything 'extra' is always good.

I know a bug that was (or still is) in that game. you have unlimited nitrous if you do not buy a nos tank( hold N during the whole race exept when shifting, then hold N again) hold it at the countdown ´´Christmas tree`` just get a ´´bone stock`` car like a Honda S2000
