What of this idea, where the host can force the controller?

Options could be like:

Wheel
gamepad/joystick
keyboard

This could even out the field, in a sense.

All you could really acheive with this is to have keyboard only servers or mouse only servers - as 90% of people use a wheel I think you'd just end up with a lot of empty servers.

This would just kick of a new version of the wheel/kb wars that happened on RSC when the kb control was changed. Since then most people are happy there is a balance with the control types so this is just pointless.
