Is it possible to allow a higher "Number of Posts to Show Per Page" on this forum?

30, which is the current max, is really low. Specially nowadays when everybody has broadband and whatnot.
It's so much better to be able to see a lot more of the conversation without having to go to the next page and sometimes back to reread something...

I agree. IIRC, it was 50 beforehand and I had it for a long time, but then I stupidly decided to update some stuff on the user CP, which set it back to 30.

I'm on 50, and it's great! Not going to change my settings now just in case I get 'just' 30....

I would like the 50 (or whatever) to also apply to the New Posts search results, because it's annoying only seeing 25 on each page.

I love it when someone mentions a thread has become 80 pages long, and I only see 40 - much easier to browse

yes it was 50, but about a year ago it was reduced to 30 to ease processing demand a bit. 50 posts has a heavier page load than 30.

But the maximum is 50 again now though.

160 kb/s IS broadband, thats 2 mbps!

Unless of course you meant 160 kbps, which is ISDN

It's completely irrelevant if you have broadband or not, as the posts per page setting is changeable in the User CP. The only reason to restrict this setting is to decrease server load, not to make the pages load faster for the poor souls still on 56k.

Even on 56k, I'd rather show more posts per page. It drives me nuts waiting for the thread pages to load, then have to load another one because there's another page. I'd rather load it all at once. It is only a forum, not all that slow even on 56k. Though I do miss some posts because I tend to open several threads in new windows, then go back and read the first one loaded while the others load.
