He does get the gaps. Since he has leading he would have had the gap to 2nd and 3rd all the way through the race. Even then if your far enough ahead of 2nd place man the 3rd place man isn't going to be much of a worry unless he was on a different strategy.
I can't see how his race performance was affected at all. The only time I'd see the radio being important is in a close thought battle where he needed to make a gap. The Ferrari had the speed to probably lap up to the McLarens easily, so that wasn't a problem.
Kimi is a great driver and I'd like to see him win a title but I'd like to see the McLarens making him work for that top end salary
. Can't see Renault getting far with Fisi as the lead driver.
