Well, yeah. We are never going to get it over here again, the hell wont freeze up twice! I just hope they are not going to make it so lame like every production done by the YLE (equivalent to BBC), show Santa and some old postcards and traditionally lame things and embarrass the whole country.

Thankfully in NZ we're spared from this crap but from what I've seen I'd rather smash my head on a brick wall than actually sit thu it.
Don't you guys actually have proper music cus the chipmonks have more talent than anything I've seen associated with this.

I watch it partly for the entertainment value of the various acts (Latvia are always excellent in this regard), but mostly to hear Terry Wogan's commentary. If Terry stopped doing it, I'd stop watching - he's hilarious.

We make a night of it and play the Eurovision Drinking Game.

You write all the competeing countries names on peices of paper and hand them out, then watch the results come in. In each round, for each one of your countries that gets 'nil points', you take a drink.

The Balklan nations vote for each other. The Nordic countries vote for each other, the Greco-Cypriot 12 points exchange is an annual event - and I guess the GB-Ireland one is as well.

The only non-Europop entry other than Lordi last year. What killed it was that yellow tracksuit (not featured - will find live at ESC video).

In the British pre-qualifing event, he wore similar stuff to the studio video. But when he turned up with this lurid yellow thing.

Ten quid says they were not actually using the turntables, but hey ...

A good way for the ESC to become a little less of a joke would be to ban backing tracks totally. Or would that actually favour non middle of the road pop :P
