A Great Event
One of the very best events is in the near future. The ATC 60 Lap GP is scheduled for Wedneday 4th April, i.e. next Wedneday.

I thought I'd post here because the event often gets missed among all the various competition threads.

Anyone who has not tried a 60 lap race before, I highly recomend it. Experience counts for a lot though so don't expect miracles.

So sign up for some great fun.

what car/track ??

waiting for someone to put me on the list

UFR/XFR the choice is yours. Good work my man.
i have lost interest in the ATC grand prix because they only use the xfr+ufr and it gets boring after so many races with it and the tracks are more less the same SO town or long, AS club or nat and the xfr is the mainly the car that ATC drives

I must say I would prefer to do these events in the XRT or RB4 but the races wouldn't half be long. I think FOXs would be good too because of the limited fuel load they can carry and the effect heavy loads have on performance. It would make the tactical side of the race more important.

Never been a fan of the GTR class though I must say.

There are 19 cars in lfs but they choose 2 use cars which are good cars but are to easy and are very boring if you are own your own, the fox is a good but lmao it is just common nowadays... the mrt was the most common in s1 but never used that much in s2.

The uf1 was a very popular car back in the last incompatible patch but the tyre upgrade or the high nose cheat was fix and screwed up the handling which put people of.
We tend to use the XFR/UFR because they are the logical upgrade from the XFG which we used in the s2 demo for the GP's. We like the event to be open to everyone too, not just the guys with wheels who practice 24/7 in GTR cars.

Also we prefer close racing to really spread out races (see any server running GTRs after lap 3 of the race)

Anyway I can't make the GP this time because I have my Theory test that day, but anyone who has not entered before I would suggest giving it a go because the racing tends to be clean and the racing is rarely boring.

EDIT: I would also point you towards a few names who have blown tyres or crashed out during 60 lap GP's in the past if you would like an example for how the XFR isnt easy to drive.

I think the point he was making is that - if you're not racing door-to-door with someone - the XFR can be a bit boring to drive. With the twitchier RWDs you're at least occupied with keeping the car on the road.
Then take the UFR, the thing rolls on sight.
I'm just not that interested in racing FWDs I suppose. The UFR used to be by far the most fun out of all of them, but the last physics patch took away some of its pushiness. I don't really enjoy driving it now.

Same here, the UFR/XFR bore me racing. The only time I really have fun with them is just cruising around. I don't really know why but it just doesn't seem like your are really "in it" with the UFR/XFR and the UFR likes to flip over at random curves aswell. I almost feel like the guy who crashed the Enzo this week when driving it as the car likes to understeer.

I am still not sure if I will participate. I will be just getting home from school at that time so I will think about it.
I disagree - once you've done a load of laps in a RWD you are just as unlikely to crash as in a FWD. The back is easy to control if you've done loads of laps. The XFR on the other hand is never boring simply because if you take too much kerb you end up on your roof.

I don't see how any one can say that 60 laps round any of the SO circuits can be boring in any car.

Occasional rolls aside, the rest of the time you're managing understeer. Understeer's just not exciting.

How about if we said it's less boring in certain cars?

I've signed up for this one too

Depends how you set up. For me in these cars the thing I have to do is keep the back tidy at corner entry. They want to oversteer on the brakes if you set them up to be fast.
