does anyone have the PS3, just to tell me how goood it is for ma brotehr because he wants one, but been told its not worth the money!

I got one on release day, and i gotta say that it is the best console i have ever owned! I have had numerous consoles, including an Xbox 360, but the PS3 just kick's the teeth out of it! The PS3 is REALLY quite, the graphics are unbelievable (depending on what game you have obviously) and it's just so ahead of the game. I only have one game atm which is motorstorm, and this weekend, im going to purchase Resistance:Fall of man which looks awesome! One thing i caqn suggest to your brother is to save up for a HD tv (if he does'nt already have one) and a HD cable. Luckily, i already got a HD tv, and on HD, it really changes the whole luck of the game.

yea i know that is what i have allways said that you need a HD tv! but if you get the 20GB PS3 i dont think you need it as much but you will need it for the 60GB PS3 if you want the best quality of the game and best of all he has suround sound and man that is just amazing! when we go to our cousins in england the got like a mini cinema in there loft and the screen is massive so we will need to take it down there and play it on that! wow that would be amazing!

It's odd, everyone in the UK who got a PS3 last week has said it's much better than their 360s but everyone in America has been making everyone expect it to be crap by going on about how ps3s gonna fail and how the 360 kicks the PS3 square in the bollocks.

But yeah, I really want to buy a PS3, but I also want to buy a G25, psp, I need to update this PC and am considering building a cockpit.

My ps3 is a 60gb version as th 60gb one is the only one you can get in the UK atm, and i would'nt get the 20gb version anyway, and btw, whether you have the 20gb version or he 60gb version, none of the graphics change, only the memory and a few more things change

I think that anyone who has just forked out a grand $AU for a games console is going to say nice things about it. They don't want to make themselves think that they've wasted a lot of money.

yea i will hopefully say the same well when my brother gets it lol but the only down side is that the games cost £50, i mean that is expensicve for games!

Yes, atm the games are quite expensive, but give it a little time and they will start to go down, the Xbox had the same storie when it was first realesed, and look at the games now, cheap as chips!!

But seriously though, the main reason the games are so expensive is because the consoles are "next generation" consoles, which basically means the graphics of the consoles, the speed, the memory and all has gone upto the "next level" which is why the games cost so much, because of the new software used to make the game. Also, another reason the PS3 games are so much is because they have had a new feature not found in any other consoles, it's called Blue-Ray, which is an advanced reading system on the disc, basically, it is able to let the laser read the info of the disc MUCH faster, and MUCH smoother.

Yeah I do have a 360 actually. To tell you the truth I'm a little disappointed with it so far, seeing only incremental upgrades in graphics and physics, and nothing new in terms of gameplay. I'm not a fanboy. I've
I've also seen dozens of PS3 'videos and reviews' of 'it' and have even played Resistance briefly.

So far for the PS3, we've seen some 360 games re-released with bugger all improvements (even in graphics) despite the extended development time.
We've seen a decent arcade racer in Motorstorm with an average review rating in the low 80s, and a generic FPS that offers nothing new to the genre.

If you think that is "is the best money i have ever spent on a console ever", then that's fine, I'm just glad I'm not your wallet.

Fair enough, but i would'nt of wanted to be your wallet when you bought a 360. All im saying is just try having the PS3 for a few days (maybe borrow of a freind) BTW, it was my dad's wallet that got shot ^^

man that sounds amazing, see for the PS2 how do you connect that to the internet ( i have broadband )?

For PS3 you probably use a cat 5 cable and plug it directly into your router, but that's just an assumption.

For ps2 if you had an old big one you needed an adapter, if you had the small thin ps2 it already had it.
