Speakers look a bit ricey/cheesy but the cdjs omg, amazing stuff. Have you got a pair yourself? Awesome piece of kit.

its not rice.. its.. a showcar lol, if this thing could drive, im sure pioneer took the 110hp engine inside the xB and put something with a little more umph, i doubt the stock engine can handle what goes in this thing

wheels/tires, interior, rear grill, americanaudio vinyl turntables, the whole area that those parts are on, the DJM peice i need to make which goes between the CDJ1000s, the screens which drop down i just noticed last night

basically i'm just doing stuff in groups, the past few days i've been doing only audio related stuff so once i'm done with that i'm gonna go to mechanics and fittings, and then finish off the interior and exterior

and i'm off all next week

i think i've found my base reall with this car, i think what keeps it so interesting is .. well obviously the diversity of all the parts that go into it.. and must i say.. doing these rear doors, they are thick as ANYTHING, they're atleast 8 inches thick :S (area including the wide bodykit) but still?!

oh.. right, and the DJM thing is.. making its way onward, i still have yet to find better references of those tvs and the vinyl turntables.. and the interior but.. whatever

if it was rice it would be cheap speakers and fing ugly, you think every tuner car is rice... that car is worth more than your house i bet :S

if you think that is rice, then surely you think an STi compared to a WRX is rice...

Don't bring girly Imprezas into the conversation, but no I don't consider most of the STi stuff to be ricey compared to the WRX. Sure a lot is purely for show, but it adds up to a general, real, measurable improvement.

Silly speakers and amps, low suspension, massive bodykits and pointless paintjobs are all rice - they do nothing but scream "one, low IQ, owner from 4th hand" at people, and show a lack of mechanical or automotive understanding (although, like graffiti artists, it does show imagination and creativity, but they won't help a car go quickly or be impressive).

Good, because if you were deleting posts then I'd be cross, as you have no right to do that. As a file moderator, you are the moderator equiv of Baldrick, a dogsbody, doing a job no one else wants to do, and therefore, as a moderator (and not as a player or a person) you do not have my respect.

However, I find it odd that non-offensive posts about some work you are doing got deleted without any mention of anything from a moderator.

Rice is ANY modification to a car that does not improve it's performance or appearence like the owner thinks it will. Fitting a wing to a Supra is just as ricey as nailed MDF splitters to a Punto. All In-Car-Entertainment is rice, as it just weighs a car down and makes loud music when even OEM speakers are enough to deafen (admittedly sound quality is improved in some cases, but most are installed for volume/bass).

No, I have a lot of respect for janitors (I'm good friends with the one here at work, and know several people unlucky enough to be in that situation). You are just a power freak, and have enjoyed flexing your semi-moderator powers at every opportunity.

But to say, Rice isnt a car that looks "ugly". Admittedly, some rice cars do actually look , well, rice but not "ugly". I mean, they look maybe original and stuff, but rice doesnt necciceraly(sp) mean ugly, or in reverse.

if you really want to talk about the true meaning of "rice" which is actually a WWII term, then start it elsewhere... just not here (obviously) or i'll go off again because i like tuner cars, and clearly.. if you dont.. then just dont say anything

I like tuning cars too, but sorry to break it to you, but that's not tuning. It's just a show off project, it has nothing to do with a car really. Tuning cars is about engines. For me, a tuned car is clean, lowered and has a powerful engine. It doesn't even have a body kit, most car manufacturers have nice cars, if they're not nice, don't use them.

There is a difference between tuning, and rice. Rice is not acceptable, and is allways in stupid cars/vans/sheds, with big speakers/rimz/teh neonZ/stick on nawz bottle/spotty teen behind the wheel. Tunining is as sgt.fliipy has said above, and is perfectly acceptable. Its also possible for a few individuals to comine tuning and rice to give a acceptable vehicle. And, if you wish to rant about how much you like rice cars, then go ahead, i dont mind

I don't see why everyone has to come into someone else's thread and start crapping on rice and whatnot. Someone said it to voice their opinion on the 3d image, no need for everyone to jump in and give their opinion on a a topic unrelated to the subject of the thread.
