Having tried the automatic update functionality of LFS updating from patch V to W last week, I noticed that the update could not be automatically applied.

I suspect the new User Account Control feature (which I have on as per default setting of Windows Vista) to be interfering with the execution of the downloaded exe-file.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit edition. The download of the patch went fine, but the update could not be applied.

I could manually apply the patch afterwards in windows.

Yep it's a real pain. I searched for a while before working out how to turn that particular account security feature off. Got really annoyed with being advised 3 times if I wanted to create / rename a folder in a C: drive directory. Auto drag and drop zip and rar files weren't working properly either till this 'feature' was disabled. Welcome to Vista.
Looks pretty though, doesn't it? Sort of like an Apple Mac?
