Clutch slipping?
I have been playing the S2 version (demo) and I really enjoy it, but I have noted one thing, what is maybe a bug?

I'm not using automatic clutch, I use my joystic as a clutch and it seems to act in LFS like there is slipping clutch. When I'm in the options the axles and stuff seems to be okay. But when I'm driving and in start I rev the engine a bit (5000-6000 rpm) and I release the clutch fast and put more gas, the wheels flips and squeeze just a second and then in little moment the car is acting almost like variator moped, car gets more speed but rpm is almost steady and the rpm gets lower slowly before it gets the ''right'' rpm comparing to speed & gear and it starts to act normally. And when I'm trying to do fast shifting to upper gear, it does same, so after I have released the clutch rpm gets lower very smoothly (almost like automatic gearbox) so it isn't really an nice thing.

So, it acts like an real car with not enough good clutch comparing to power, it slips and part of the power is loosed at accelerating.

So is this a bug? And is there a way to correct this or something?
At the moment it's not possible to stall the engine in LFS. Therefore an automatic clutch is applied if there isn't enough torque to propel the car forward when you release the clutch. This can be seen when you have 'show pedals' enabled. Doesn't matter if LFS is set to auto clutch or a manual, it still does that. By the way, that's what you would do in real life anyways
My clutch is quite fast, goes up and down almost instantly with no real loss in acceleration at all. Prolly because I use a manual digital (keyb) clutch. Try using a joy button & manu clutch to see if it makes any difference.

Dunno if there's a way to ctrl the speed of the clutch with joy buttons but with the keyb it's possible by changing the button-press speed (or w/e) to max (6).

The autoclutch is really slow rls'ing compared to the manu clutch btw, if that helps

*edit: all-finn thread so far..

And to continue, the reason for the clutch to intervene is most likely a too long 1st gear OR too little throttle (= not enough torque at the wheel in both cases). Either use a bit more throttle when starting or adjust the 1st gear.

It does that in full throttle too, it don't just spin the wheels, after little spinning it starts to slip very much. Same at shifting fastly. And I didn't have this problem in the S1 version...

-EDIT- I calibrated all again and now the problem is gone, clutch don't feel like slipping anymore.
I know what you mean, the entire takeup of the clutch is perfectly linear almost with no real slip just right off the floor and no real "catch point." Feels like the god damn clutch on my 1989 Sentra..or any other Japanese car for that matter.

i think you need to re-assign your throttle & clutch (separate axis)
This is almost weird that this topic hasn't gone to the bit-heaven or whatever, I didn't anymore even remembered posting this. But btw, I don't have anymore problems with the clutch, using G25 nowdays.
Autoclutch activates automatically if your rpm drops too low to prevent stalling.
