I've never heard of a Gamecube game over E60,- So basically... £40. Gamecube games were also never at any point in history more expensive than PS2 games.
After a while you'll learn that there are some things you don't discuss in these forums, LOL!
Sorry to say, but many in these game forums are children who haven't developed their sensitivities and are rude to everyone. To boot, many can hardly converse in English and have difficulties understanding these posts. If you notice, many times they drive the posts in a different direction because they can't keep up with the subject.
You best bet would be to just read and if you need unbiased opinions, just PM someone whose posts show some kind of maturity. Or better yet, join a league or team forum where you can ask questions without kids making you feel like you are dumb and stupid.
This is the best advise I can give you, and btw you will see a barrage of posts commenting against what I just said. That would prove the point, right?
I think the best software to compare LFS with is Aces High II, both have a dev team totally dedicated to developing one game to be the best in its genre, whereas most just release new versions which have about as much real progress as a patch for LFS (GTR, GTL, GTR2, RACE). Aces High is £8 a month where LFS is only £1 a month if you play it for 2 years until S3 is out, SimBin/ISI release a new full price title at least once a year which to stay current with the sim community and find races you have to rush out and buy. LFS is just one product that'll last a lot longer.
Ahh, good ol' MOHAA. That's all we did in comp sci 3 last semester was play MOHAA. EvilVendingMachine FTW w/ da RIFLE.
Anyway, back on topic, I'll pay watever the devs want for S3 beecause LFS is the best.
( Just a small danish advertisement for the official danish LFS sites )
Its because the game got release in 2 part, S1 and S2. Couple of years ago, we played the demo for many weeks and than S1 was just 10 euro or something. Now if you want to pay the game you need to pay for S1 and S2 in the same time. The game still cheaper than most others, and i don't think i ever saw a game with so many feature. Stuff like "live for speed world" is just awsome. This game is not expensive even if you don't get a box. I don't even own S2, i jus try the demo, i was playing that game some years ago. The dev did a great job since then. But im not interested in racing anymore, just passing by
Yea, thats true, and for ppl like me who already own S1 and gave more money than what it was costing, S2 is really cheap(9 euro for me). But i never been good at racing
I will be back when ill receive an other email-update....
Gt Legends it's an old game, and i think no updates. This game os old, but the Dev's always are working to get it better, u can get up to 4 patches a day so this keep improving. I dont think this game is expensive.
XCNuse, he said he overpaid when he bought S1. Remember you could type in any figure you wanted (I'm not sure if you can anymore), but if it wasn't at least £12 you wouldn't get a license, it seems he was one of the few that paid more just for the hell of it, because it was such a damn good deal . That money stays on your account, so he's paid for most of S2, now he only needs to top up.
Not another one - Its is cheap compared with brand new games from places like HMV or Game - You get new updates every couple of months - The use of the forum, LFSW and support from the devs and then you still complain its expensive - £24 thats like the price of 2 (new) dvds or an night out!
Anyway you still bought it so it couldn't of been that bad.
The only game that is similar to LFS is Test Drive: Unlimited but thats still about £25.
I just thought of another game to compare prices with. How many people play World of Warcraft? It's huge. What happens with World of Warcraft? You have a monthly fee to play online. I think it is something like $8 or $12 (USD) per month. So, you pay for the software, then pay monthly to be able to play. LFS has been around for 4 years and costs $50 USD (roughly we'll say, I paid $42 for S2 because of exchange rates 2 years ago). I can't remember what it costs to actually buy the software license for WoW, but 4 years worth would cost $384 to play online (using the $8 per month). WOW on the cost of WoW! If you like racing online, then it isn't so costly comparing it to if you liked casting spells on people online, is it?
Or to be better said, the next update to GTR will be GTR3 which will cost another full price, then the following update will be GTR4, which will cost another full price, etc, etc. The next update to LFS will be another patch which will cost nothing and the update after that will be yet another no cost patch (hopefully incompatible ), etc, etc until it is time to move on to S3. Then it is another 12 GBP for S3 and it starts all over again with free patch after free patch after free patch as they add features to S3.
