Weird error in WinXP home...
Whenever I use a windows program, I experience weird crashes. Like, if I go into VB.net, go to open, browse to my "F:" drive, a 250GB SATA WD, the program just closes! Also, when I press ctrl-alt-del, I cannot get to the task manager. But, that isn't so suprising since I tried modifying/hacking my task manager...
I suggest sticking important stuff on a disc and reformatting.

I've reformatted about 5 times in the past, it can be a pain!
YAY! I have fixed the problem. Windows System Restore points are actually pretty handy if you have LOTS of disk space (and disk space is cheap these days!)
well glad you found out your problem, i'll keep this thread rolling because i've gotten some strange errors the past few days

the major one which is bugging me is this:
every time i log off or turn off my computer, (every time a user signs off), programs will not end the way they should, but rather are immediately cut off and i have to end task everything that is running.. it does it fairly quickly alone, but its also not saving certain things because even explorer.exe has to end task and its been causing more and more problems, and there is no way i can reformat
Good thing this thread is still open. My problem still exists! Now I have rolled back EVEN FARTHER! I hope the errors will be gone this time...
I get that problem accessing large (500 GB) drives in XP, the same drive in Mac OSX or XP on this iMac gives no errors of that nature.
