I had one on STCC few days ago, he flew out of the pits right into my UF1 when I passed in lap 8 (endurance day), he hit F4-> "Sorry, my fault !! ))",
I just recovered before in the next turn he crashed into my rear. So I let him pass, only untill the very next corner where he flipped his car. Curbs on FE are quite high
Every drifters seems better than me three months ago, but one you get experience you just figure out that half of them are worse then you. Tip (Whatever the motorsport) is time and practice.
the point i'm trying to make is that when i first started this game,i never saw "noobs" drive as bad as they do now!
Standards are slipping, and also i think the percentage of new drivers who are prepared to put the time and effort into becoming good drivers is very low imho.
2 years ago i would have said it was easy to watch new drivers and spot the ones with potential!
now,i find it hard to spot many, sadly
maybe it's just a reflection of todays youth! who knows?
Joined since Jan 2006 and only 10 posts, your observations about n00bs are derogattory, ignorant and inaccurate. I don't agree with your comments; there are plenty of new racers out there trying hard to learn the ropes, and doing well. There are also the usual few (very small minority in reality) that give rise to your sort of sweeping statements that gives out a biased impression which is not helpful for anyone.
You missed my earlier post or did not get what I was talking about.
The better you get the more noob like new people around you look. While you are learning and hence still fighting with how to keep the car in control you have far far less time to give over to how others around you drive.
After all my time with LFS I have to say the situation now is no worse than it was when I started. I still drive as though everyone on the track is a noob or wrecker unless I have raced with them enough to know I can race bumper to bumper. Short races are also a problem as people don't have time to work their way up the field so makes the noob push even harder.
I have always classed people as noobs UNTIL they are able to complete the distance in MOST races they take part in.
I don't mind racing with noobs, in fact I love out-running them, but I hate the fact that noobs upload tons of hotlaps. I hate looking at LFSW and seeing driver X uploading a hotlap, and being placed at spot 700 or 800 in a hotlap chart. What's the point of even doing a hotlap, especially when they are off the WR by 10s of seconds...
Wow, does no one ever think to help people out? These so called "noobs", have you ever checked their stats to see how new they are? "Noobs" is quite a derogatory name and it definitely does NOT fit the new-to-LFS racer. If people are new to LFS, it is understandable that they drive like this. New folks are either coming from other serious racing where they understand sim racing, are completely new to sim racing, or are coming from games such as GT4 and NFS. The latter two new person type can not be expected to come to LFS and run WR times and run perfect laps. It is up to the veterans of LFS who have been here a long time to teach these new people. These new folks are your future competitors and it is very beneficial for you to teach them rather than flame them so that someday you can find yourself in the middle of a corner with them at your side racing your heart out without them crashing into you or cutting you off.
Teach! Please! This is the future of LFS and these new people are our future competitors!
i think you've been driving in S2 to long,my friend!
if you wan't to see the real noobs, then go back to demo.
lets face it,if someone's gunna buy S2,then they are obviously willing to take the game seriously,so you can hardly tar a new S2 driver with the same brush as a demo noob!
AND BY THE WAY,IT'S NOT JUST ME SAYING THESE THINGS,EITHER!!
you speak to any of the good/serious drivers who race in demo and they'll tell you the same things!
And by the way, sinse when does WHEN i joined the forum or HOW MANY POSTS- i have previously made, qualify you to be so rude ,arrogant, conceited, and have an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of your OWN rectum?
This is, i believe, a discussion forum for people to voice their opinions?
If you don’t agree with them that’s fine!
But as a moderator, should you really be setting an example like you just did?
I THINK NOT!!
I Do, and allways have helped drivers i have seen putting the effort in to learn.
any one who know's me will tell you that!
there's nothing like the thrill when someone your helping's laptimes start comming down
Yep, I learnt loads of people early on where people would spec in car and give me help/hints. I do this for others from time to time when I am on an empty server and a noob joins that looks like they are trying.
I do find it strange that people get so wound up by it and not realise they were noobs once, some still are but don't realise it
OMG.... It's the demo. LFS even warns you that its demo and hence chaos.
If the people that live in demo for x years want better racing then move to S2.
I'm sorry but I'm just voicing my opinion about the inaccuracy and negativity of your post, if that offends you then remember its just a discussion forum where people are allowed to argue their own points of view. I don't see how bringing my digestive tract into the discussion will add further merit to your argument.
There have always been a slice of poor-driving demo racers about. As the game gets bigger it should attract more, just as the forum keeps expanding, despite the arrogant mods attitudes.
What does detract from the community however is this proliferation of mob rule when it comes to demo racers, there's a minority of forum members that take every opportunity to be very insulting to new demo drivers who are just trying to get into the game, Scawen's next future customers if you like, and I think we need to do what we can to work against that blanket prejudice.
There will always be a selection of users just out to cause mayhem and wreck people's races but they will grow bored and move on, to be replaced by a new lot. They are not in general getting any worse than they always have been.
If the situation on the demo servers causes you so much consternation, why not race with the other S2 members on the S2 servers?
Well, after being forced into a demo situation currently (out of unlocks, wasted the last one in OSX), I'm starting to learn that there is quite a disarray in demo, and its awkward being so slow into T1 (start from back) and coming out high in the order.

This was, according to Live For Speed World, the last time you were racing online. The only time I see blatant noobish driving is on STCC New and Bronze.
