Sound and multithread questions
Now that multicore CPUs are available I ask would it be very difficult to implement multithreading? I think of using the second core for sound processing.

Also Ati suggests using a second videocard on a Crossfire mainboard as a physics processor.

What are the plans rgarding multithreading for LfS?
Bump! :bannana_g
I know I'm not the best person to answer this, and I've only touched on multithreading with some basic 3D and sound, but keeping the 2 thread's sync'ed can be a little tricky, and potentially you can add extra latency between parts of the game engine

Certainly a nice idea, but I'm still not convinced that multithreading is a viable choice for sims/games at the moment. DirectX 8 (the underlying sound/3d subsystems of LFS) doesnt cope very well at all with threading, if I remember correctly. DirectX 9 may, but it would require a fairly substantial rewrite to rip out all the DX8 stuff.
Thanks angel!
I do my best
