i agree highly with al, however i would like to see some sort of seperation for the drifters (or those who call themselves that), just so that they wont be bothered by all the anti-drifters here which i must say.. do get very annoying for just saying crap about something they hate while others enjoy it
I just can't see any positive changes from it, but many negative. Sure LFS torque isn't linked to on the main LFS site. Neither is anything else to do with drifting. This is the official forum. All pretty consistent I'd say.
The scism between the two camps already exists and I doubt if it will ever go away. As I've written several times already, this was just a possible solution to the ongoing 'tribalism' that already exists; in retrospect, I agree that segragation may not be the answer.
It would be nice if there wasn't so much antagonism between the two groups, but then it would be nice if money grew on trees and ice cream was good for you.
So is the solution to discourage drifters from participating in activities here? Or to punish racers who 'dis' the drifters who have 'invaded' a racers forum?
Human nature being what it is, I don't see this problem fixing itself.
Drifters can just go play a game thats taylor made for their drifting needs, need for speed, it was made for you. Embrace it, love it, and leave us in peace. And i mean it in the nicest way.
I just feel that drifters WANT this sim to be taylored to THEM, while the mayority of the lfs users are grippers, so this small drifting camp whines and cries about things they want to suit their fad, which honestly annoys me quite a bit. Drift all you want on lfs, just dont come asking that you need this and that so you can drift better\longer whatever.
Asking for a drifting subforum would be feeding this fad, which imho would slowly start to compromise lfs's integrity. So no. Let lfs go where it was MEANT to be headed, and stop wanting it to be more like NFS then LFS.
whats wrong with drifters? they pay their money and yet they feel the need to hide in their own community for fear of the flaming sparked off by "z0mg wherez da NOZZZZZZZ?!"
Just link to LFS Torque, they've got a GREAT community going there, why split it up further?
Whats wrong is that they constantly make new threads like:
"Can we have BIG wings and add neon lights under the car?"
"Why does lfs not have NAWS????? like dudes, NAWS is HOOTT"
"Why cant we have tyres that last forever?!?! NFS has them and lfs doesnt, lfs suxxx0rz"
and it goes on, and on.
Drift all you want, but please dont make threads asking for drifter only things to be added to the sim. Drifting is a by-product of the sim, not the sole intention of it, so let it be.
Your post is total BS mate, and you are just making things worse when they don't need to be. Inventing your own version of reality and stating it as if it is fact doesn't deter all of the good people from enjoying this sim in their own way. As for whining, you would have to be perhaps the biggest of them all. Do yourself a favour and stop digging your own grave.
What you assume, or interpret is completely IRRELEVANT to the topic, you being moderator should know better and try to maintain a neutral point of view. With that said, whatever you think i said or think i "stereotyped" by giving examples of what 90% of the drifting community asks for is for each and everyone to interpret their own way, some may see it differently then you, some may agree, others disagree.
What type of moderator are you? obviously not an unbiased one, which defeats the purpose of being a mod.
Anyways, thats all im going to comment in this thread. Cheers.
You attribute all the above stereotyped topics to drifters. That's like saying that out of everyone who died in a car accident last week, 90% of them ate breakfast: therefore - eating breakfast causes car accidents.
We are in the presence of modern youth culture, they like things that are shiny and go bang. They will always ask for crazy changes, that is not endemic to any particular community minority. What type of moderator am I? I'm the type that doesn't like seeing a minority group bashed uneccessarily by another minority group. I'm the type that doesn't like people deliberately looking for trouble and pretending that they are just voicing an opinion in an unbiased fashion. I'm the type that is getting sick and tired of seeing innocent requests and natural forum behaviour getting flamed by the likes of you.
some do, but unfortunately the "less desirable" drifters tend to be vocal and hang around here, where as people like Matrixi have long since left for LFSTorque. I'll agree i dislike the "FnF 13 Year Olds" but its them i dislike, NOT drifters
You don't want a drift subforum? Then don't go to read/post in this subforum!
Lfs is not only a racesim, its a pretty good driftsim so why wouldn't have any support or special subforum for this kind of race?
In an other way, drifters may said "Why a league subforum is it so important ?" ...
Anyway, even if there will be trouble with FnF 13 year old gamer posting crap and shit other drifters will surely enjoy a place for them when a lot of people don't like them
It is designed as a racing simulation, and a mere side-effect of it is people using it to drift. If people wanted a driving at the pit lane speed limit subforum, that would be laughed at. Whilst there are more drifters than people that go at pit lane speed limit all the time, that doesn't make them any more valid.
