Is that what multiplayer speed up option does? dynamically setting the detail level?

plz somebody make a foto of ur graphics becose i dont endestend were is the problem

The setting you are after is on the Misc tab and it's called "Dynamic LOD reduction". Set the slider to the left for more detail and to right for performance. Mine is set to 0.35.

Also in the Graphics Tab set the "Mirror LOD" to 0.20 and the shadow type to Low res to gain some performance, with no quality loss.

Generally you can adjust the settings in single player mode while the game is paused and see the effect in real-time!!!

While you are doing that make sure you have the Misc>Show Time Instead Of FPS to "NO" and the Display>Frame Rate Display(fps) setting to "right" to notice the performance gains immediatelly. (If the FPS/Time counter is on the left it gets hidden when you hit ESC).

It is not a problem. When your FPS are low LFS lowers the detail.

If you want to turn it off it is the 'Multiplayer speedup option'=[Off]
